So.. Whats the point?

Pretty Right? Yeah.. They look cool
But If its your first time wearing them...
Your up a creek with out a paddle...

Yeah, these gorgeous things you attach literally to your eyelashes and eyelid are pretty cute. But if this is your first time wearing them, prepare for major annoyance. These little suckers poke, sting, and do all the annoying things that you wouldnt want to go through. My mother told me that I'll get used to them, but this is the only time I plan on wearing them. For Halloween I am dressed up as the Mad Hatter, girl version of course and yes I know, it may look unappropriate but I am in fact wearing a cheshire cat shirt underneath and shorts. So its all good. Though I am upset that I cannot wear my hat; due to the fact that it says 420/69 on it as the price tag. Gross right?  But anyways, my mom got me these rainbow colored eyelashes that were really cute (not my style) but I told her to put them on. And instantly I yelled, "MOM!! THESE THINGS ARE ANNOYING. But i guess Ill wear them.. " and walked out of the house. Yeah a little angry, but I didnt think about the consequences I was going to endure when I wore them. The glue started chipping and getting into my eye, the eyelashes bent in a way so that wearing my glasses was annoying as well, and the clue and eyelash part that you glue to your eyelid and eyelash was poking my eye so bad that I went to the bathroom at least 13 times in 30 minutes.

Im so pretty, Oh so pretty!
Im so pretty and witty and..
GET THESE THINGS OFF MY EYELIDS!

So I complain alot, and sure I hear from alot people either "Your just a wuss." Or "Yeah I know right?" but after a few hours Ive gotten used to them, and they are in fact pretty if only I wasnt blind and didnt need to wear glasses but who'd a thunk it right?

Home's Nothing But A Tomb

WOULD I CALL THIS A HOUSE?
OR A TOMB
ROTTING HERE EVERYDAY AND NIGHT,
WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?

DO YOU LIKE IT HERE?
LOCKED TIGHT AND ALONE,
WITH NO ONE TO HEAR YOU
WEEP AND MOAN.

DO YOU WANT COMPANY NOW?
SINCE YOU'RE CRYING AND COLD,
WANDERING IN YOUR DARK MANSION
WITH NO ONE TO HOLD

WOULD YOU WANT ME HERE?
DEAD TO THE WORLD TOO
CAN YOU HEAR ME TALKING?
DO YOU WANT ME TO STAY WITH YOU?

IF NOT TELL ME TO GO,
AND ILL LEAVE WITH EASE.
THINK IF YOU'D RATHER BE ALONE,
OR BE WITH ME.

FOX SAYS:  I wrote this poem after getting into an argument with my mother. Its not really about her, but it gave me a sense of my mom. Its saying "would I call this a house or a tomb" I meant it as would you rather stay here forever or travel, take company or stay here and not do anything worth doing. "Rotting here every day and night" Meaning that why would you want to stay  here forever, drinking, watching TV instead of living life? "Do you like it here..." I meant that as, Do you like seeing yourself through a foggy mirror? Do you enjoy crying every night with no one to hear you? The same as wanting company with no one to hold you as you cry, wandering your home alone. Your tomb. "Do you want me here?" When I put that in the poem I meant to ask, would you want me here? The one you supposedly love, the one who hates watching you be and cry alone. If not tell me to go, I'll leave and never come back but think, Do you want to be alone the rest of your life... or be with me?

Skellingtons, Vampires, and Pumpkins

Halloween, day where demons come out and
when you can dress up and be something your not.
Eat loads of candy and get scared. Heh.

So Halloween is the best holiday of the year, and I know you agree with me. Its the time where you can dress up and be whatever you'd like with out worrying about someone else's input on what you look like. The day where eating a load of candy, having fun, screaming, laughing, partying, and tricking thousands of people that just walk on by without getting in trouble.  When it comes down to it, just being able to celebrate a holiday in such a way is exciting. I mean come on, you get to walk around town in a costume, knowing that some might not recognize you and you can scare the living crap out of people. But be aware that you might get beat up if your scary enough. Candy, the sugary goodness  and the best invention in the world. Its amazing how candy is made, I recently watched a show on Food Network that explained how gummy worms, chocolate, snickers, and other candies were made! Did you know that Pop Rocks were an accident? The original maker was only trying to make a soda! Cool huh!

Halloween, is of Celtic, and other practices. Halloween was long thought of to be the day where the dead can come back to life and wander around the earth spooking people. Which is why Celtic customs say that people lighted bonfires and wore costumes around to scare away the wandering ghosts. Around the 19th- century, Halloween began to loose its connotation and turned into a normal childrens holiday. What I believe is the most fun about Halloween is the fact that you can dress up, eat candy, and spook your friends and family. The scariest thing that I have done on Halloween is walk through a corn-field in Oregon and get chased by people dressed up as scarecrows. Ooooeeeooo. Some people say that they would rather buy their own candy, and sit home watching television instead of go outside and enjoy peoples scary costumes, I would much rather party and scare people. Whats better then trick-or-treating? Absolutely nothing. Or is there?

I happened to do a survey at school asking people questions about Halloween such as, Whats your input on slutty costumes? Do you like them or not? What do you see the most out of costumes? What do you like about them? Do you enjoy trick or treating? Whats fun about it? what would you prefer doing on Halloween other then trick-or-treating? And what is the most scariest thing you've done on Halloween? Now, 46.6% of people love slutty costumes because of the fact that you can be what you want and if someone wants to dress slutty they can, along with making girls look hot its all that matters; but the other 20% doesn't like slutty costumes because its inappropriate for people under 16 to wear them and the other 34% are undecided. When the question, what do you see the most out of costumes and what do you like about costumes, came along I got many different answers. Alot of people were seeing slutty costumes, princesses witches, vampires, pirates, actors, actresses and spiderman. When it came to liking the way costumes were around it all came down to enjoying that you can be anything or anyone you like without being judged and being able to show your creativity.

Trick or treating was an easy question for everyone, it was all 'Yeah! I love getting free candy' or 'Whats better then eating candy all night?' So that one went well and if I do say so myself, free candy is a plus. Everyone would much rather do something else other then trick-or-treating due to the fact that most of them would rather party, hand out the candy, do nothing, watching scary movies, and fighting people. It varied for the last question, What was the most scariest thing you've done on Halloween, all of them were weird like 'watching my cat get eatin', 'nothing', Haunted ships and houses, the Texas Chainsaw Massacure, flashing cops, egging some ones house, running across the street in 7in heels, and going to the cemetery late at night. Not the most excitingly scary things to do or witness but its alright for what I thought they'd say.

Do you like Halloween? I bet you do, Go spook a pal, go spook your family. Drink some blood, and you'll be just like me. Haha.

Have a Happy Halloween.. May the spirits be with you!!

Surroundings

See the sun as it shines
The one who lights the earth
Spilling joy along the sky
As happy as giving birth

See the moon, watch it glow
Letting shadows dance around
Sending calm feelings to our minds
We're listening to every sound

See the ocean drift around
Like a never-ending flame
Shimmering like a precious diamond
With each and every wave

See the clouds float on by
Like a cat sneaking through
Leaving paw prints here and there
While keeping an eye on you

See the mountains standing there
Elegant with every height
Look at all the beauty around us
What an amazing sight

I happened to choose this poem I wrote, to express what I see in the world. The beauty and elegance of what mother nature has created for us to see, for us to believe in her. Mother nature. Sounds hippy-like right? Ha ha, I Know but its not everyday that people get to live in Alaska or anywhere else thats beautiful and be able to have it right in your back yard. Ya know? The pictures are not my own, though I believe I can take some shots the same style as the photographers who took these. Pictures help with my poetry, and so does understanding. :)

My Passion, My Life

Above: Not Taken By Me, Found on Google. Action shot, ten photos in one. Cool huh?
.::Photography::.
You can say that its my passion, the very thing that sends me flying over clouds made of sugar and spice with everything nice. But your probably thinking, 'Everyone's passion is photography'; Well if you want to know the difference between me and this everybody your talking of, you may find it hard to believe but every one's picture taking abilities differ in style, focus, and care. Shocking I know!!  I love looking through the lens of my camera. Its like taking a good hard look at everything and realizing everything changes. You see the beauty in things you normally wouldn't. Its like a new pair of eyes, a new sense. Holding my camera or any camera of shape or size, or whether it sucks or not, just taking a few good pictures makes me happy and excited. When I'm upset I run to my camera and snap pictures of the world or my depressing view of the world. Whatever my mood, it shows in my work, and if that's something everyone loves then I'm happy to be apart of it. Happy to get the taste of it all.
Above: A Near- Infrared photo, not taken by me. Found on Google.

The way to seeing life differently..

Not everyone can be a photographer, and often I get people telling me that. And its true, just because you love taking pictures and you think they are cool, doesn't mean your a photographer. You'll learn some of you ain't quite good at accepting criticism. But me, I love it, it gives me the urge to be better. Someone telling me the contrast could be darker or lighter or that the picture would look better in sepia, or black and white, or vibrant colors; just churns my stomach and I go retake the pictures even if I have 403 shots already of the exact same thing with different ways to view it.  Its the willing to be better, I throw a little piece of me into the photo and send it on its way to being critiqued and then to make it better!!
To me, photography helps me cope with the stuff I go through everyday. It makes me view it and turn it into any type of shot. I could have my friends sit in the photo somewhere just to add a little flare. Its just something that made me, me. And I cant wait till I get into a collage that teaches photography so perhaps I can make myself better then I already am. Get a Masters Degree in photography and then its off to job hunting or traveling the world and taking pictures as I go. Sounds fun doesn't it. Yeah.. I think so too.. Aha.. Well, If you like photography, work at it, no ones ever 'great' at photography the first time they take a picture. Know that ANYONE could take the picture but its your job to make it your creation, throw something into the picture, make it dark, make it light, view it differently then keep going till you come up with something you like and that you'd think every one would enjoy staring at.

Where's The Book? Outta Town...

Have a book that you just read?
Of course theres going to be a second one after that..
But its not anywhere to be found?
Sucks Right?

Yeah, It just plain sucks don't it? Its a tease really, why do library's only get a certain amount of books. Like the whole volumes thing is completely pointless here in Ketchikan. Why get one book by an author that creates only a few books that involve the same character of the book you just read. It makes people angry, well at least it makes me angry considering I think me and only a few other kids in this town even read at all. Its upsetting. Plus the library is huge so it seems like the book you'd want to read would be there.

Its a big set up, darn Librarians. Ive got this habit where I read and read and read and If I don't get the book that's after the one I just read, I get pissed at this town and flip out on my mom. Which in her case isn't something that pleases her. Like today, I finished a book called 'The Secret Under My Skin', and of course Ill get all happy go lucky and be like, "I want to read the second one." Ill look it up, you know that whole searching for the book on the library website, and it wasn't there. I got pissed, Kept looking and typed in different things you know the publisher, the author, and the title like at least ten times each. "I hate this town" is all I said and I gave up. But whats cool about this town is if none of the libraries have it, they will order it for you so you can read it. Like my principal here at Revilla High school, He said "yeah, we can order it for ya. No problem!" And BOOM BAM! I'm happy all over again.

The only thing I have to focus on is being patient. And of course, being the anxious reader that I am, Ill probably check with my principal and be like "Is it here yet?, Did you order it? Huh huh huhhhhhH?!?!?!" and then Id end up mentally beating my butt because its already enough asking if he could order it for me.
I don't know its that little thing about reading books that really disappoints me. I bet it makes those who are also readers, very upset due to the fact that where ever you live, your library just sucks. It makes kids like us just want to go the largest library there is on this frigg'n planet and , live there. Ya know?
Maybe its just me, I don't know. But soon you all will feel my pain when you start reading a book for once, then you'll get interested and be like Yeah! Now I'm going to get the next book! and you know what will happen? It wont be there. Then you'll be all angry and give up reading just for that reason. Sounds logical no? So good luck, and wish me luck on my order!!!

Everyone has a little Cheshire Cat

"You see, a dog growls when he is angry and wags his tail when hes pleased. Now I growl when I'm pleased and wag my tail when I'm angry. Therefore, Im mad"

The cat that remains remarkable in the book of Alice In Wonderland, is The Cheshire Cat. You see, the cat is the only character in the entire story that really listens to Alice. Cheshire is mainly teaching Alice, the rules of Wonderland (Underland) and with his remarks, he is indeed doing his job. The cat of the duchess he is, but what is he really based off of? Perhaps its the paintings of an artist whom created pictures of lions grinning, or perhaps it was based off of a carving in the Croft church.Croft Church has a sedile - a seat for the clergy built into the wall - at one end of which is a carved stone face of a cat or lion. Seen from a pew it has a wide smile. But if you stand up, the grin seems to disappear, just as it eventually does in "Alice in Wonderland". No one quite knows.

I indeed love the Cheshire Cat, it was like fate for me to love the heck out of him. When I first watched the original movie, I seemed to have an addiction to the way 'Chessur' talked and the way he helped out Alice. I believe everyone has a little Cheshire watching over them and guiding them through the rules of life let alone Wonderland. While Cheshire seems infinite in my life, he teaches me the rules of life. My conscious you can call him, and perhaps that's what he was in Alice In Wonderland, Im not sure though.

Cheshire can disappear and reappear, and grin largely. But if you ever really pay attention, when he leaves or disappears he tends to leave his smile behind. I adore that. Why? Because its like a sense of hope, a sense that hes still there and that Alice isnt alone. Understand? If you realized, Carroll's favorite saying was, "To Grin Like a Cheshire Cat" I tend to use it often when someone I know doesn't feel quite well and often at times I use it when talking to my mother. You never quite know what to expect when you realize that the Cheshire Cat appeared and might do something 'mad'.

Cheshire Cat: I went to a hunting party once, I didn't like it. Terrible people. They all started hunting me!
Alice: Life must be hard for you.
Cheshire Cat: But I grin and bear it!
